Rower Updates
- The Sandy Run Park managers anticipate filling all of the parking lots by 9:30am for the regatta this Saturday. If you plan to arrive after 9:30 am, please drive straight to the commuter lot (directions linked here) to be shuttled to the park.
- Reminder: The WSCBC Athletic Scholarship application is available on the WSHS Career Center website. Two $500 scholarships are available (one male and one female) to seniors.
- Congratulations to the Men's Freshmen 8, Men's Novice 4, and Women's Novice 4 boats for their performance at the Ted Phoenix Regatta. All three boats made it into the final events and two boats won medals: A second place medal to the Women's Novice 4 and a third place medal to the Men's Freshmen 8. The Men's Freshmen 8 has qualified for Nationals! Way to go West Springfield Rowers!
- Stotesbury information: If you have any questions about the Stotesbury trip, please contact the Away Regatta chair, Martha Gibson. You can also check out the Stotesbury website.
- Do you want to borrow an ERG over the summer? Need ideas about how to keep up your conditioning and rowing strength over the Summer and Fall? Check out information on the Team webpage.
- Volunteer! WS Crew survives on the generous spirit of our parents to step into roles to make our program thrive. It's now the time to begin thinking about a board or fundraising organizer position for next season. Due to our graduating seniors, a few positions held by those parent will be available. Consider one of the positions and talk to the member now filling that position to learn more and then volunteer. We look forward to working with you. The positions that will be open and brief descriptions are located on the Crew Boosters and Volunteers webpage.
Fundraising Updates
- Come to the Crew Car Wash on May 11 at the Shell in Cardinal Forest Plaza. Please come by and get your cars washed and help support the team. The fundraising coordinators are Bob and Kathy Cowley.
- Scrip Updates: Scrip fundraising purchases after April 28 will apply to the next rowing season. Remember that Scrip is a year round fundraiser! A list of latest scrip that our Scrip Coordinator, Paul Kellner, has on hand has been placed on the Fundraising webpage.
- Scrip is available to order online. A Scrip Ordering Guide for using the on-line system has been placed on the Fundraising webpage. You can shop for scrip at "shopwithscrip.com" which will allow you to place an order for scrip whenever you'd like. Get started with this great program; it's any easy way to generate funds into your fundraising account. You buy this stuff anyway, so make it work for you!
